On Your Way

Dear Baby Girl,

So much has happened since I've written to you . . . it's almost difficult to write about because I don't know how to adequately express my feelings. We know that you are finally on your way and we are SO excited! It's all I think about every day and sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with joy I think I'll burst. We first started learning about you and talking with your beautiful birth momma in October and we met her for the first time (along with your birth grandma and aunt) in November - the day after Thanksgiving. She's so beautiful and so sweet, baby girl! I can't tell you how lucky your daddy and I feel to have her in our lives. We hope you grow up to be just like her!

We found out that you were a girl on December 4th . . . and really we weren't surprised about it at all - we always felt you were a girl :) And on December 18th we received the best phone call of our lives . . . your birth mom told us that we would be parents, that she had chosen us to adopt you. Like I said, it's difficult for me to express how I felt - how do you summarize the most beautiful, joyful feeling you've ever had? There were a lot of happy tears (from both sides of the phone!), prayers of gratitude, and an overwhelming feeling of love for both you and your birth mom.

Since then, we've been busy with nursery preparations, buying cute little clothes, and dreaming of holding and loving you. May 12th can't come soon enough :) Here's teeny peek at your nursery so far, though there's still lots to do:
